The bill to install a video surveillance system in public places was withdrawn from circulation. Ministry of Internal Affairs

The police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that the legislative package to secure their territories with video surveillance systems by business entities within the framework of ensuring public safety has been removed from the agenda (the projects have been taken out of circulation and will no longer be discussed according to that logic).

In response to the information spread in the media that a legislative initiative was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on this topic, we inform you that the initiative was put into circulation not by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but by the member of the National Assembly Hayk Sargsyan.

Within the discussions of the previous project, an approach was put forward, which was considered acceptable by a number of interested parties, according to which the Ministry of Internal Affairs would be given access to the video surveillance system of local governments and state bodies.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs expresses its willingness to organize a meeting-discussion with all entities interested in the project within the framework of the new initiative in order to implement the process in a mutually agreed upon version.
