A complex of facilities will be built to accommodate the NATO brigade in Bulgaria

A complex of facilities for the construction of a multinational NATO brigade is planned to be built in Bulgaria, reports the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA), citing the statement of the Bulgarian Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov.

According to the agency, the residential, educational and sports facilities will be located in the Kabil military district near the city of Yambol in the southeast of the country. The BTA, citing the minister, emphasizes that any ammunition that will be used will be stored in warehouses "outside the settlements and outside the barracks".

"It is not planned to store ammunition or other dangerous materials," the agency quotes the words of the minister.

According to BTA data, the NATO brigade will number about three thousand. Bulgaria is currently negotiating with the NATO Logistics and Procurement Agency to determine the cost of the construction project.
