Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that US President Joe Biden's latest initiative on a ceasefire in the Middle East was a delayed but important step. He said this at the press conference held after the talks with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarek Al Said, who is on a visit to Turkey.

"We cannot achieve regional and global peace until an immediate, just and permanent ceasefire is established in the Gaza Strip. American President Biden's initiative on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip is a very late but important step," the Turkish leader noted.
