Erdogan: Turkey expects that Israel will fulfill the terms of the ceasefire in Lebanon

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stated that he expects Israel to literally fulfill the terms of the cease-fire agreement with Lebanon.

"We are working hard to find a solution to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. We are pleased with the implementation of the cease-fire agreement between Israel and Lebanon that came into force this morning.

We expect that all parties, especially Israel, will literally fulfill their obligations to maintain peace," he said, speaking before the faction of the ruling Justice and Development Party in the parliament.

The Turkish side, as Erdogan noted, "is ready to make any contribution to stopping the massacres in the Gaza Strip and establishing a permanent ceasefire."

Earlier, the Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed the establishment of a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and expressed hope that it would be permanent. The international community, as noted in the agency, "must put pressure on Israel to strictly observe the ceasefire and compensate for the damage done to Lebanon."
