The communities of Ararat and Vedi, as well as Vanadzor and Pambak were united, forming two new enlarged communities.
The National Assembly approved the draft of amendments to the laws "On Administrative Territorial Division of the Republic of Armenia" and "On Local Self-Government".
The project was approved with the ratio of 61 votes to 29 votes.
According to the project of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, it is planned to implement a new phase of community enlargement by uniting Ararat and Vedi communities of Ararat marz with their 32 settlements, as well as uniting Vanadzor and Pambak with their 22 settlements in Vanadzor community of Lori marz. Thus, the proposed bill will concern 54 settlements of 4 communities and as a result, 2 new, even larger communities will be reorganized.
