The first document on drones with Canada has already been signed: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Canada for the new defense package, noting that it will first of all strengthen the country's air defense.

"This is, first of all, strengthening our air defense, both for Patriot systems and for our combat aircraft, which shoot down Russian Shahid jets," Zelensky wrote.

According to him, 21 Ukrainian pilots are currently being trained in Canada. Other countries are also participating in the training of Ukrainian military personnel at various stages.

Zelensky also announced an agreement with Canada on the "Drone Deal", noting that the first document has already been signed. According to him, it will give Ukraine additional opportunities to finance its defense, and Canada will receive technological capabilities tested in modern warfare.

The parties also reached agreements in the energy sector, which, according to Zelensky, are important both for the upcoming winter and in the long term.

Canada will also allocate $40 million to a fund to be created for Ukrainian veterans.

During his meeting with Zelensky, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, in turn, stated that Ukraine will never surrender.

He recalled that at the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion, according to him, Vladimir Putin predicted a quick victory and the capture of Kiev within a few days.

"He thought that the Ukrainian state would collapse, that it would be possible to break the will of the Ukrainian people. Four years and 198 days of courageous resistance have passed. Ukraine will never surrender," Carney said.
