Moscow continues to work with Yerevan, fulfilling all its obligations. This was stated by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Andrey Nikitin
"They do not formally refuse anything. They constantly announce something, but at the same time there is no refusal - we work, as we have been working,"- said Andrei Nikitin, answering the question about the possibility of Armenia's refusal from the partnership in railway transportation with Russia.
According to Nikitin, all the conditions are written in the current concession agreement.
South Caucasus Railways (SCR) manages the railway transport system of Armenia on the basis of a concession agreement signed between Armenia and Russian Railways in 2008. It was signed for 30 years with the right to extend for another 10 years.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Yerevan is offering Moscow to sell the concession for managing the republic's railways to a third party. When asked about Armenia's possible actions in the event that Russia rejects Yerevan's proposals, the Prime Minister replied that such a scenario is impossible.
Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's requests to sell the concession, noting that such statements cause surprise and emotions.
