Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Ratcliffe has proposed a trilateral meeting on the Ukrainian settlement with the participation of Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky during his visit to Moscow.
The American newspaper Axios, citing its own sources, reports that CIA Director John Ratcliffe has proposed holding trilateral talks on the Ukrainian issue. It is noted that during his visit to Moscow he proposed organizing a trilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky.
Ratcliffe left for the Russian capital on August 25. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the trip was due to contacts in the field of special services, and a meeting with President Vladimir Putin did not take place, although the head of state was informed about the talks.
The Russian President's press secretary also added that it is still too early to assess how the visit of the American official to the capital will affect the process of bringing Russian-US relations out of the deepest crisis.
