The Russian army has taken control of three settlements in the DPR and Sumy region. The information was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
"As a result of decisive actions, units of the "Center" military group liberated the settlements of Rubezhnoye and Novoandreevka of the Donetsk People's Republic," the summary says.
The city of Rubezhnoye is located northeast of the city of Dobropolye, one of the centers of the coal industry in the Dobropolye region. The loss of the settlement will negatively affect the economy of Ukraine.
Novoandreevka is a key hub of Ukrainian defense, located west of Druzhkovka. There are only a few settlements left for the Russian army to reach Druzhkovka.
Fighters from the "North" military group have also taken control of the village of Khrapovshchina in the Sumy region. Control over this village allows expanding the buffer zone in the border area of the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.
