New details have become known in the case of brutal murder that took place in Melik village of Aragatsotn region. According to "Channel 5", 20-year-old Edik, in his testimony to the law enforcement officers, said that he hit his mother many times with a rolling pin until blood flowed from her mouth.
According to preliminary information, the tragedy happened on March 3. According to the version circulating in the village, the quarrel started after the mother reprimanded her son for smoking and hit him with a fire mixer. After that, according to the report, the young man beat his 56-year-old mother with a rolling pin, causing her to die.
According to Channel 5, after the murder, the son moved his mother's body to a half-built building. At first, he covered it with snow, and after the snow melted, he periodically poured dirt on the body for months, trying to hide the marks.
According to the villagers, they had not seen Ruzan in recent months, and his son gave different explanations for his absence. When relatives began to suspect, they urged the young man to contact the police to report his mother's disappearance.
The case was revealed after a relative who arrived in Armenia from Russia informed about the woman's disappearance and contacted law enforcement. On July 22, the police questioned the 20-year-old man, who confessed to the murder. He also stated that his 25-year-old brother participated in the crime. Both brothers were arrested.
At the same time, the residents of Melik village question the version of the older brother's participation, noting that he has been working in Yerevan for a long time and rarely visited the village.
