Iranian authorities continue to export oil despite the suspension of a general license issued by the US Treasury Department in June that eased US sanctions on Iran's oil sector. This was announced by Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad.
"For years, the Ministry of Oil has built the necessary mechanisms to neutralize the consequences of unfair US sanctions. Since the mechanisms to ensure the uninterrupted export of oil are already in place, the export of Iranian oil continues as usual," the ministry's press service quoted him as saying.
Paknejad noted that Tehran did not abandon all previously created mechanisms because it expected that Washington would not keep its word.
