The United States protects all the Arab states of the Persian Gulf and expects compensation for securing navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, US President Donald Trump said. "I want to be compensated because we are protecting a very rich part of the world.
We spend money," he said, answering journalists' questions at the White House on July 13. "We will receive compensation from the countries we help protect them," Trump emphasized, referring to Washington's efforts to ensure the normal flow of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Among the countries to which the US provides assistance in this field, Trump mentioned Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
