Tens of millions of people in Iran and Iraq attended the funeral of late Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, his son and successor Mojtaba Khamenei said his death must be avenged.
"I want to express my sincere gratitude for the magnificent and historic participation of tens of millions of people in different cities of Iran and Iraq, especially in Tehran, Ghom, Najaf, Karbala and Mashhad," Mojtaba Khamenei said in a written message on the occasion of the funeral.
The leader of Iran also promised to take revenge for both Ali Khamenei and other people killed as a result of the US and Israeli attack on Iran.
"We vow to take revenge on the criminal murderers for your shed pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars (June 2025 conflict and 2026 hostilities: — ed.) Retribution is the demand of our people, and it will definitely be implemented," said Mojtaba Khamenei.
