On Thursday afternoon, a magnetic storm with a power of more than four points is expected, the corresponding forecast was published by the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to the data, from 15:00 to 18:00 Moscow time, the power of the storm will tend to five points, which corresponds to class G1. Storms of level G1 are considered the weakest; they have almost no effect on the operation of electrical appliances. Level G3 is a severe storm that directly impacts power systems and causes disruption to satellite navigation and radio communications. The maximum level is G5, large-scale problems with the power grid and serious malfunctions in the operation of satellites and radio communications are possible.
