Mohammed al-Buheiti, a member of the Yemeni political bureau of the Shia movement "Ansar Allah" (Houthis), believes that the agreement between Iran and the United States will not lead to peace in Yemen.
He announced this in an interview with "RIA Novosti". According to al-Buhayti, if Yemen's demands for a peace agreement from Saudi Arabia are not fulfilled, it only shows that the decision-making powers have been completely transferred to the US and Israel, which leaves no room for maneuver for Riyadh, since the cessation of attacks on Yemeni territory is in the kingdom's own interests.
The representative of "Ansar Allah" assured that the Houthis are not hostile towards any Arab state, including Saudi Arabia, but that Riyadh should end the air, sea and land blockade of northern Yemen, which has been in place since 2015. Therefore, the ball is in Saudi Arabia's court, al-Buhayti explained.
He added that there can be no talk of peace as long as the blockade of Yemen, which has caused enormous damage to the country's inhabitants, remains in force.
