Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received the delegation led by Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, Deputy President of the Republic of Iran, Head of Planning and Budget Organization.
Welcoming the guests, Mher Grigoryan on behalf of the Government reaffirmed the readiness of the Republic of Armenia to further develop friendly relations with Iran. During the meeting, the current issues of the Armenia-Iran bilateral agenda were discussed, the progress of cooperation in transport, energy, trade and economic relations and other areas of mutual interest was discussed.
The interlocutors also discussed issues related to the modernization of the border checkpoint and increasing the capacity of border crossing, which will directly promote the development of trade and economic cooperation.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the Deputy President of the Republic of Iran, as co-chairmen of the intergovernmental joint commission of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, both emphasized the importance of the activity of the intergovernmental commission and agreed to continue discussions in that format.
