In order to ensure the legitimacy of the electoral processes, the chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee appealed to the RA Minister of Justice, proposing to initiate legislative changes. The basis of the initiative is the study of electoral crimes of a corrupt nature revealed in the period preceding the 2026 National Assembly elections, as a result of which the mechanisms of the application of criminal schemes and the circumstances contributing to their execution were highlighted.
The Committee proposes legal solutions that will reduce the possibility of such schemes, including the application of restrictions on political forces involved in electoral processes.
"Emphasizing ensuring the legality of electoral processes, the Committee preliminarily summarized the data of the proceedings regarding the cases of electoral crimes of a corrupt nature revealed in the period preceding the 2026 National Assembly elections, highlighted the mechanisms of manifestation of these crimes and the circumstances contributing to their commission, on the basis of which the Chairman of the RA Anti-Corruption Committee appealed to the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, requesting to initiate such legislative changes in order to eliminate the circumstances contributing to the commission of the crime. henceforth, they will minimize the possibility of using the revealed criminal schemes, including by prohibiting the participation of political forces involved in such schemes in the electoral processes," the message says.
