The prosecutors submitted 5 criminal proceedings regarding election crimes to the court, concerning 16 persons


During the month of May 2026, with the indictment approved by the prosecutors of the Department of Control over the Legality of Pretrial Proceedings in the Anti-Corruption Committee of the General Prosecutor's Office of RA, 5 criminal proceedings regarding election crimes were handed over to the competent court regarding 16 persons.

They are:

2 episodes of 1 criminal proceeding against 1 person accused of giving election bribes and 2 persons accused of receiving election bribes,
1 criminal proceeding regarding 5 persons accused of 3 episodes of giving election bribes and violating the ban on charity and receiving election bribes,
1 criminal proceeding regarding 2 persons accused of violating the ban on charity and aiding it,
1 criminal proceeding against 1 person accused of giving an election bribe, taking material interest in order to participate in 2 episodes of the gathering and 1 person accused of receiving an election bribe as a group,
1 criminal proceeding regarding 3 persons accused of obstructing the exercise of the electoral right, its attempt and preparation.
In particular:

The head of the security team of the "Strong Armenia" party offered two voters a job, an apartment, a plot of land and a position on the condition that they and their family members vote for the given party.
A member of the "Strong Armenia" party transferred money to a voter instead of household appliances promised in the name of charity, violating the ban on charity during the elections.
The co-supporter of the "Strong Armenia" party, together with two other persons, obstructed and tried to obstruct the free exercise of the electoral rights of the leaders and residents of the Syunik Marz communities, demanding them to vote for their political power, threatening them with a negative attitude. In the same proceedings, one person was also charged with two episodes of election bribery. he offered voters a partial debt relief, promises of employment and solving service issues in exchange for votes.
The head of the office of the "Our way" NGO, actually performing the functions of the head of the office of the "Strong Armenia" party, gave election bribes to four people on the condition that they vote for his party, and also, violating the ban on charity during the elections, he transferred 200,000 drams to one citizen.
The regional representative of the "Strong Armenia" party paid election bribes to 2 citizens, two people were interested in participating in the meeting held on April 17, 2026, promising material aid in the form of food.
Notice: the person accused of a crime is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in accordance with the procedure established by the Code of Criminal Procedure by a legally binding court verdict.
