A war against Iran will not benefit anyone, and the Middle East will only lose if the situation escalates, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. "Ankara is in favor of resolving the differences between Iran and the United States exclusively through diplomatic means.
According to him, Turkey maintains high-level contacts with both sides and is discussing possible ways to reduce tension," the Turkish leader told reporters while returning from Ethiopia.
He noted that he held talks with both Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump, and that possible future steps were discussed. Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is committed to building bridges and laying the foundation for peace, rather than aggravating conflicts.
"A new war against Iran will not benefit anyone, on the contrary, our region will only lose," Erdogan said.
