The mayor of Windsor called Trump's claims about the bridge crazy

Drew Dilkens, mayor of the Canadian city of Windsor, Ontario, called the US president crazyDonald Trump's demandsfor half of the ownership of the border bridge connecting Windsor and the US state of Michigan.

"This is just madness. When I saw the president's announcement on the Truth Social social network, I couldn't believe what I read," the mayor said in an interview with CBC TV.
Dilkens reminded that Canada fully financed the construction of the bridge, while the USA "did not want to pay". According to him, the American side is resisting the completion of the project, which will contribute to the development of trade between the two countries.

The mayor also called crazy the statements of the US leader that in the case of a deal between Canada and China, Beijing could allegedly stop all Canadian hockey and permanently cancel the Stanley Cup.

Previously, the US president wrote on the Truth Social social network that he will not allow the opening of the bridge connecting Windsor and Detroit until Canada gives Washington half of the ownership of the object. He again criticized the intention of the Canadian authorities to conclude a deal with China.
