Wolfgang Ischinger, the chairman of the Munich Security Conference (MSC), said that the organizers of the forum withdrew the invitations previously sent to the representatives of Iran.
"We initially expected the participation of the Iranian delegation, the Iranian Foreign Minister," he told reporters at the press conference in Berlin. However, according to him, as a result of consultations with the German government, the organizers withdrew the invitations, taking into account the "current tense situation" around Iran.
"Unfortunately, I have the feeling that constructive negotiations with the Iranian side in Munich are not possible at the moment," Ischinger said. "Thus, the Iranian government delegation will not be in Munich," he emphasized.
The Munich Security Conference will take place on February 13-15.
