US President Donald Trump seeks to go down in history as a peacemaker.
Dmitry Medvedev, the vice-chairman of the Security Council of Russia, announced this in an interview with TASS.
"Trump, of course, wants to go down in history as a peacemaker. And he tries. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But he is really trying," said the politician.
The vice president of the Security Council also expressed the opinion that Russian-American contacts have become much more effective under Trump. "And that is a benefit to the case," Medvedev noted.
