The death toll from the sinking of the Trisha Kerstin 3 ferry in the southern Philippines has risen to 29 after the bodies of 11 more victims were found, GMA News reported. According to the Philippine Coast Guard, 316 people have been rescued.
There were 332 passengers and 27 crew members on board. The passenger ferry, which was sailing from Zamboanga City to Jolo City, sank on the night of January 26, not far from Baluk Island, Basilan Province. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
