The "Doomsday Clock", which indicates the degree of threat of global catastrophe, has been moved forward four seconds. It now shows 85 seconds to midnight, reports the American magazine "Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists".
The "Doomsday Clock" is closer than ever to the end of the world. The authors of the project claim that their decision was influenced by the fact that "mankind has not made significant progress in overcoming ontological risks" over the past year.
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists assesses global threats since 1947. Last year, the hand of the "Doomsday Clock" moved forward one second. A few years ago, the clock showed 100 seconds before midnight.
