President Asif Ali Zardari broke his leg while getting off a plane upon arrival at Dubai International Airport, the presidential residence said in a statement. After the fall, he was immediately taken to hospital for treatment. After examining him, the doctor put a plaster cast on his leg, Dawn reports.
“The cast will remain on his leg for four weeks,” the statement said. Zardari was sent home and advised to rest completely. At 69, the president has faced numerous health problems in recent years.
In March 2023, he underwent eye surgery in the UAE. In 2022, he was admitted to Dr. Ziauddin Hospital in Karachi for treatment of a chest infection.
