Sixteen people were arrested in different cities of Lorestan province in the west of the Islamic Republic for participating in riots and committing acts of vandalism, SNN reported, referring to the provincial intelligence agencies.

According to Iranian media reports, during the recent popular unrest in the country, more than 100 rioters were arrested in this province.

"Sixteen rioters and vandals were arrested in Lorestan," the agency said in a statement.
