Lavrov answered the question about the situation in Venezuela

It is difficult to predict future developments in Venezuela, the country's authorities are currently protecting their national priorities, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said.

"I cannot predict what will happen next. However, at this stage, we see that the leadership of Venezuela defends its national priorities and preserves its national sovereignty, as well as the need to participate in international relations as an equal, sovereign and independent state.

I very much hope that everyone interested in relations with Venezuela, including the United States, will mutually respect these principles, which, in my opinion, should be universal," Lavrov said at a press conference after the talks with his Namibian counterpart Selma Ashipala-Mousavi, answering a question from "RIA Novosti".
