According to a poll by YouGov and the Economist, fewer than 10% of Americans favor using military force to assert Washington's control of Greenland, and fewer than 15% favor paying the islanders to persuade them to join the United States.
According to the poll, only 8% of Americans support the use of military force to take control of the island, while 68% oppose it and another 23% are undecided.
Furthermore, only 13% favor organizing payments to islanders to persuade them to move under US jurisdiction. Another 64% do not support such a measure, and 24% could not answer.
The survey was conducted on January 9-12 among 1,602 US adults. The margin of error is approximately 3.5 percentage points.
