US President Donald Trump considers the reluctance of the inhabitants of Greenland to join the United States "their problem". He announced this to journalists at the Andrews Air Force base near Washington.
He was asked to comment on the words of the head of the government of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, that Greenland does not want to be part of the United States and that the island chooses Denmark.
"Well, that's their problem. I do not agree with him. I don't know who he is. I don't know anything about him, but this will be a big problem for him," said the American leader. Earlier, the Prime Minister of Greenland announced that if necessary, the island would be chosen by "NATO, the Kingdom of Denmark and the European Union".
He also noted that Greenland cannot be bought.
