Bloomberg: London and Berlin discuss sending troops to Greenland

A group of European countries, led by Great Britain and Germany, is discussing the issue of sending additional troops to Greenland, reports Bloomberg. Europe hopes that the increased military presence will show US President Donald Trump and his administration that the European continent is serious about ensuring the security of the island and the entire Arctic.

Germany, in particular, plans to offer to send a joint NATO mission to the island to protect the Arctic. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is calling on allies to increase their military presence in the Far North.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful is expected to arrive in the United States early next week, where he will meet with Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington.
