US President Donald Trump claims that Western oil companies will invest hundreds of billions of dollars in Venezuela.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday evening before leaving for his Mar-a-Lago estate near West Palm Beach, Florida, the US leader praised his meeting with Western oil executives on Venezuela.
He believes that it is safe to say that an agreement has been reached on the essence of the issue.
"We just had a great meeting with the heads of the oil companies. We seem to have reached an agreement," Trump assured.
"They will come with hundreds of billions of dollars to extract oil. That's great for Venezuela and the United States. A lot of money will be earned. Oil prices will decrease. Although they are already decreasing quite significantly. On January 9, we had a great meeting with the world's largest companies," said the head of the Washington administration.
