Fidan: The US did not offer Turkey to accept Maduro

Before the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, the United States did not offer to host Turkey, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on TRT Haber.

The New York Times previously reported that on December 23, US authorities offered Maduro a trip to Turkey, but the Venezuelan leader "angrily rejected the plan."

Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Ankara did not receive such an offer from Washington.

"The Americans told Maduro. "You can go wherever you want." We were not offered to accept Maduro in Turkey. However, Maduro received offers to travel to other countries, and we know about them," said Fidan.
