During the war between Ukraine and Russia, the Russian side attaches great importance to establishing control over the city of Khuliaipole in the Zaporizhia region. To that end, additional troops are reportedly being deployed there and the city's infrastructure is under intense attack. Russian troops are trying to destroy all buildings in the city. This was stated by the spokesman of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladislav Voloshin, during the broadcast of the telethon.
According to him, the most difficult situation remains in the region of Huliaipole and in the region of Huliaipole in general. Tension is also registered in Oleksandrivsk region.
Voloshin reported that fierce fighting continues in Hulyaipole. Russian units are trying to infiltrate the city, but Ukrainian forces claim to have been pushed back and inflicted casualties on the advancing forces.
According to Voloshin, in the last 24 hours, about two dozen armed clashes were registered in the city.
He also reported that strikes are carried out by drones and planes, including guided bombs. He noted that the goal is the destruction of buildings and fortifications in the city. He also emphasized that Ukrainian units continue to be present both in Khuliaipol and in its western outskirts.
Voloshin noted that the Russian reports about establishing control over Hulyaipole are false.
He noted that the active operations around the city show its strategic importance, as Khuliaipole is the largest city in the region and an important logistics hub that provides access to the roads leading to Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk Region.
