Thailand and Cambodia will discuss a high-level ceasefire on December 27

A high-level meeting of the General Border Committee of Thailand and Cambodia, during which the issue of establishing a ceasefire in the conflict between the two countries will be discussed, will take place on December 27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand announced, referring to the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom.

On December 24-26, negotiations within the framework of this mechanism will take place at the secretariat level.

"The real high-level meeting will take place on December 27. This is the standard format for all Border General Committee meetings," the statement said.

The countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) previously welcomed the start of discussions on the possibility of establishing a ceasefire regime in the border conflict zone between Thailand and Cambodia.
