The Italian Autorita Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato department (AGCM, the country's anti-monopoly regulatory body) has fined the American company Apple 98.6 million euros for violating anti-monopoly rules in the field of mobile applications. "Interfax" agency informs about it.
According to the regulator, the company violated European law by building relationships with third-party app developers for the App Store, where Apple has an "absolutely dominant position."
Apple, according to AGCM, took advantage of this position and forced developers to request specific permission from users to collect data under the App Tracking Transparency policy.
