Washington does not plan to allocate 60 billion dollars from the budget in the form of grants and loan guarantees for the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip, according to a statement published on the X social media platform of the US State Department.
"This is fake news. Nowhere in the program is it mentioned that the US will pay 60 billion dollars," the text states. However, the State Department does not deny the existence of a plan to restore the Palestinian enclave.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that US President's envoy Steven Wittkoff and the American leader's son-in-law, businessman Jared Kushner, developed a proposal for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
