As RIA Novosti reports, this was announced by his press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

"He [Emmanuel Macron] said that he is ready to talk with Putin. It is probably very important to remember what the president said live. He also expressed his willingness to hold a dialogue with Macron. Therefore, if there is a mutual political will, it can only be assessed positively," said Peskov.

On December 19, the French president announced that it would be useful for European governments to resume dialogue with Vladimir Putin. He added that EU countries should find a way to do this in the coming weeks.
