Poland may transfer six to eight MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, which the Polish Air Force will decommission by the end of December. Deputy Minister of Defense Cesari Tomchik stated this in an interview with TVN24.
"Poland is discussing the possibility of transferring several MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine, which are scheduled to be withdrawn from the Polish Air Force by the end of the year," he said, adding that "we are talking about 6-8 aircraft."
Tomczyk emphasized that the transfer of so many aircraft to Ukraine will not affect the operational capabilities of the Polish Air Force.
On December 10, the General Staff of the Polish Army announced the possibility of transferring expired MiG-29s to Ukraine in exchange for Ukrainian missile technology. At that time, the number of MiG-29s available for transfer to Ukraine was not disclosed.
