US President Donald Trump has stated that the Oval Office of the White House is the most important office in the world.
"All those who come here, the most influential people in the world, say: "The Oval Office is the most important office in the world," Trump said in his office during a meeting with members of the 1980 US men's ice hockey team.
After taking office, Trump began a major renovation of the White House, adding gilded decorations. Antiques matching the President's taste were brought to the residence from various departments. The US President demolished the West Wing to build a new ballroom.
On December 1, The New York Times reported that, according to preliminary plans for the East Wing expansion, the ballroom could outsize both the West Wing and the Presidential Palace.
