China respects the choice of the Georgian people and is ready to work with all sides to develop bilateral relations. Lin Jian, the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, announced this in a briefing, commenting on the parliamentary elections held in Georgia.
"China has always respected the choice of the Georgian people and sincerely wishes Georgia stability and prosperity. China is ready to work with all parties to promote the continuous development of Sino-Georgian relations," said the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
At the end of July 2023, Georgia and China announced the establishment of a bilateral strategic partnership. The former prime minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, announced his decision to abolish the visa regime with China in September of last year. In February of this year, the current Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, announced the decision of the Chinese authorities to cancel visas for Georgian citizens. The visa-free regime for Georgian citizens came into force on May 28.
