Minister of CSMS Zhanna Andreasyan yesterday welcomed the women's and men's chess teams of Armenia, which recently participated in the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Budapest. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of CSMS Karen Giloyan and Executive Director of the Armenian Chess Federation Armen Gevorgyan.

The minister of CSMS welcomed the chess players, thanked them for the successful competitions and congratulated them on their results.

Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized that chess has a special importance among the public, especially since chess as a subject began to be taught in public schools.

The minister of CSMS also referred to the successful competitions of young chess players who achieved high results in the European rapid and lightning chess championship. "This means that we also have stability and continuity of results. The results of our children show that we can talk about it with great confidence."
Zhanna Andreasyan congratulated the athletes and coaches of the Armenian chess team on the occasion of being recognized as the best team of the 100th anniversary by FIDE, according to the Ministry of CSMS: "This is a great responsibility and honor. I am sure that playing under the name of the best team of the century will be an additional responsibility for each of you in the future.

On the other hand, it is important that continuous work is appreciated not only within the country, but also makes Armenia known internationally as a chess country," said Zhanna Andreasyan and wished the athletes further success.

The leader of the Armenian women's team, Elina Danielyan, referring to the results, assured that they will always strive to achieve more.

To remind, Elina Danielyan and Anna Sargsyan, members of the Armenian women's chess team, won bronze medals on separate boards at the 45th World Olympiad.

In the women's tournament, the Armenian team shared the 3rd-6th positions in the team fight, taking the 5th position with additional indicators. The men's chess team of Armenia shared the 2nd-6th positions in the Olympiad, occupying the 6th position with additional indicators.
