The US has stopped issuing visas to Afghan citizens

US President Donald Trump's administration has instructed its diplomats around the world to stop issuing visas to Afghan citizens, according to a State Department cable seen by Reuters.

Thus, the special immigration program for those Afghans who helped the United States during the 20-year occupation of their country was actually suspended.
A cable sent to all diplomatic missions on Friday states that, effective immediately, consular officers are directed to refuse any applications for both immigrant and non-immigrant visas, including applications for special immigrant visas.
