The UN has warned of the threat of famine in five countries

The problem of hunger in Sudan, South Sudan, Haiti and Mali is of particular concern, and approximately 2 million people in the Gaza Strip are at risk of starvation, Oleg Kobyakov, Director of the Office of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Russia, told RIA Novosti.

"The countries of greatest concern are Palestine (Gaza), Sudan, South Sudan, Haiti and Mali. The population of these countries is already facing starvation, the threat of starvation or a catastrophic level of severe food insecurity," said Kobyakov.

He emphasized that approximately 2 million people in Gaza are at risk of starvation.
