Lebanon is ready to start negotiations for the security of its borders

Lebanon is interested in ending Israeli attacks on its territory and will start negotiations to develop a settlement formula that leads to peace and stability.

President of Lebanon Joseph Aoun announced this in a televised speech on November 22, Saturday, on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the country's independence.

"I confirm that we are ready to hold negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations, the United States or under joint international sponsorship with the aim of reaching an agreement on a permanent cessation of hostilities that will ensure the security of our borders," the politician emphasized.

As the head of the republic noted, the Lebanese army "is capable of ensuring stability in the border regions and establishing control over the five strategic heights in the south of the country occupied by Israel."
