Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Abbas Araghchi discussed Iran's nuclear program before the opening session of the IAEA Board of Governors. This was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, after the telephone conversation organized at the initiative of Araghchi.

"A useful meeting of minds regarding Iran's nuclear program took place before the opening session of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," the ministry noted.

Lavrov and Araghchi "continued an active exchange of ideas on topical regional issues, with an emphasis on contributing to the settlement of the Afghan-Pakistani conflict through political and diplomatic means."
