The United States of America has suspended negotiations on concluding a trade agreement with Thailand due to the escalation of the situation on the border with Cambodia.as reported by TASS, this was announced by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Nikondet Phalangkun.
"We have received a letter from the Deputy Trade Representative of the United States, in which it is said that the negotiations on concluding a trade agreement between Thailand and the United States will be temporarily suspended.
It follows that negotiations can continue when Thailand confirms its commitment to implementing the joint declaration.
We are disappointed in this regard. "Thailand has consistently confirmed that security issues, which are particularly related to the bilateral issues of Thailand and Cambodia, should not be connected with trade issues that Thailand and the United States are discussing," the official said.
