Colombia carried out a bombing near the border with Venezuela

Colombian troops carried out bombings near the border with Venezuela, as a result of which nine people were killed, reported Agence France-Presse, referring to a source of the country's Ministry of Defense.

"The Colombian military carried out bombings near the border with Venezuela, as a result of which nine rebels (a drug-trafficking group) were killed," an unnamed source in the country's defense ministry told AFP, without specifying which group the dead belonged to.

According to the agency, the military operation was carried out in the Arauca department of Colombia. It was part of President Gustavo Petro's fight against drug dealers.

"France Press" reminds that this week the Colombian military carried out airstrikes in the Amazon region, killing 19 members of the separatist group of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
