Politico. Kyiv may run out of money in February

Ukraine could run out of budget reserves as early as February if the European Union fails to agree to provide "compensation loans" to Kiev through the seizure of frozen Russian assets, Politico reported.

"Ukraine will face a funding crisis in 2025 as it moves into 2026 and could run out of money in February if Belgium does not stop blocking an audacious plan to provide €140 billion in compensation loans through frozen Russian bank assets held in Belgian custody," the publication writes.

Politico previously reported that problems related to the financing of Ukraine's budget may arise only until April 2026. The article does not mention why the publication changed its prediction.
