FT. The G20 will not adopt a joint statement at the summit in South Africa

The Group of Twenty countries (G20) will probably not adopt a joint statement at the summit to be held in Johannesburg on November 22-23, The Financial Times (FT) reports, citing an unnamed official.

"It's time for the G20 to hibernate," the publication's source said.

According to him, the delegations of the participating countries are not waiting for the adoption of a joint statement. They plan to use the summit for bilateral meetings and to coordinate their positions on trade and climate change, the official said.
