Iran intends to replace its ambassador to Russia, but the candidate has not yet been confirmed, as he needs the approval of several departments. This was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Baghai.
"I will present to you two cases, the discussion of which has already ended. Mohammad Fathali was selected for India and sent on a diplomatic mission and Abbas Talebifar for the DPRK.
As for the other listed locations, the approval process for Italy and Russia is ongoing," he said during his weekly press conference. The process of selecting candidates for Rome has recently progressed somewhat, Baghai added.
According to him, the process of approval of ambassadors takes a long time and depends not only on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, because the head of the diplomatic mission represents not only the department of foreign policy, but also the entire country.
